Ydam

On SD 50112.03, the Manticore was called to investigate the hostile activities of a barely warp-capable society on the planet of Ydam. Without provocation, the Ydam ships fired on Manticore, yet their weapons never penetrated Manticore's shields. The Ydam immediately demanded the ship's surrender and, after waiting on Federation advice on how to proceed, Manticore attempted to leave the Ydam system. Two of the local ships attempted to block our departure, so Manticore was forced to disable their engines. One Ydam ship was mortally wounded, so Manticore transported their crew onboard. That crew demanded to be treated as prisoners of war and, finally after hearing back from HQ, that crew was handed off to the the Federation Diplomatic corps onboard the USS Yalta.
